Right out of the bag this just smelled like spice, and the whole tea is very spice-forward with no help from the apple and orange to tamper it or add any sweetness. Kinda tasted like I just drank a cup of pepper and turmeric with the licorice of fennel on the back end, and while I could see it being good with some black tea as another comment mentioned on its own it's just kinda meh.
Turmeric-forward, sweetened with that apple and fennel. I think I'd like it brewed with some black tea in milk for a warm golden latte style. But when I need to reach for decaf, this one would work. I'm interested in the suggestion below of cooking with it. Likely nice in a squash/pumpkin soup.
Very interesting. This tea is carried by the turmeric and fennel, so much so that it has a decidedly savory flavor. It's probably not one I would enjoy sipping as is again, but I would love to steep some extra strong and use it as a vegetarian soup base.
I may have read too much into the name “warm heart”. Or perhaps there was something about the batch I got? No matter which temperature of water or how long I steeped, this tea was pretty timid in flavor.
This was a surprise I received in an online order, and I decided to try it because it's been cold and foggy where I am. This tastes like fall in a mug, just warmth and apples and it's absolutely delightful!!
