This tea is one of our Pure Green selections. Check out the entire delicious collection here!
An elegant Chinese green tea from the Lin family farm in Anxi, Fujian, made from young leaves and hand-rolled into darling spirals that open prettily as they infuse. The name comes from the shape of the leaf (a fairly common naming practice for Chinese teas). These ones are said to look like the earrings popular with young Chinese girls! The flavor is light and minerally with fantastic resteepability!
Ingredients: Green tea (& jasmine essence for the jasmine base)
Approximately 60mg of caffeine per cup for both classic and jasmine base
Steep at 175° F or 79.4°C for 2-4 min

As a plain green tea this is really lovely, but like others have said I don't smell or taste jasmine in it at all. Also got it bagged as part of the advent calendar for 2024 and I feel like being in a bag may have been part of the issue as the rings couldn't fully unfurl. Still if you like green teas this one is really good and I can at least recommend it for that.
While I don't think this one wins any awards for taste it is a completely serviceable Chinese green tea. The leaves are lovely in the infuser and I do indeed find a hint of jasmine scent. Also gives a good second steep which is not always the case with this variety of leaf. I was happy to see it in the Advent calendar for 2024 but will not be going out of my way to obtain it on its own.
I bought this as an alternative to try as a replacement for the Jasmine Dragon Pearl that was previously stocked, and was excited to give this a try. Unfortunately it has no taste of Jasmine to it, and if anything tastes more like white tea than it does like green tea. The color is also pale in comparison to other green tea blends, and looks closer to a white tea blend. The taste doesn't even come close to a Jasmine Dragon Pearl flavor...
This tea is beautifully prepared, just right for tossing a few rings into your cup and watching them unfold. The flavor is very smooth and clean, with almost no tannin flavor at all. As the description says, it's intensely minerally, like drinking a rock but in the best way. This review is for the classic base, but I can see this flavor being *amazing* with jasmine.
